Photograph - 3d Stereo Crossview With Oof Effect
Description
3D stereo X-View of 3 sibling Purple Finch baby birds perched on a paper place looking at an empty egg shell. The stereo has an OOF (Out Of Frame), also known as OOB (Out Of Bounds), as well as a TTW (Through The Window) effect. To view the 3D stereo depth effect you must be able to converge (cross) your eyes and focus on the middle image that appears while ignoring the outside.

👍 Excellent 3D image Brian. I can 'click it on' in an instant ! - I've done the same with one or two 3D (Egyptian) paintings. somewhere in my portfolio. - 🙂 -

Thanks for the nice comment and fave Hartmut. I'm glad you're viewing my 3D stereos. I appreciate it!

Ahhh, thank you so much Shane. Not everyone is successful "freeviewing" with this technique but now that you've done it I can tell you, it becomes easier each time. It's second nature to me now. If you want more practice, check out my crossview... 22 Hours Ago

Thanks Deborah! I'm glad you were successful in focusing properly with this crossview format. Not everyone is able to do it. 3D glasses do not work with the crossview format but I have other 3D photographs in the "Anaglyph" format which are meant for Red/Cyan filtered 3D glasses. I have a gallery and a group for each of these formats but on FAA the anaglyphs have a slight problem with the Red and Cyan being filtered properly leaving them more ghosty than usual. I've brought this to the attention of Beth Edwards who is the "go-between" for the owner and programmer of the FAA site.

Pretty cool 3-D effect when you focus on the picture with your eyes closed...wonder if it would work with 3-D glasses. Nice work!

Great Joy! It may seem a bit weird at first but it becomes easier the more you do it. It's second nature to me now.

OK, I got it! WOW, really cool. I think I'm getting a headache from doing it too many times. lol. thanks Brian.

You need the regular old type of cardboard with Red/Cyan filters. Some people may have a newer type used in theaters which would not work for this. They're cheap and easily obtained on line and some companies even offer a free pair. Check out Rainbow Symphony, or American Paper Optics.

I don't have the glasses either... I'll see if I can borrow some. Gotta see it :)

Thanks for trying Lila! Not everyone has succes with freewviewing in X-View format. I usually post this type of Crossview format because I doubt if many people have the Red/Cyan filtered glasses for viewing 3D anaglyphs. If you do, let me know, and I'll upload the anaglyph format and you can just slip on the 3D glasses to see it. It's easier which is why anaglyphs or the most common 3D stereo format.
